A field of 18 fillies will go to post for Sunday’s Stanjames.com 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket after the declarations were announced on Friday morning.
Special Duty is the general 3-1 favourite for the race, but support in the market for Richard Hannon’s Pollenator has seen her enter the frame as a leading contender and last season’s Group 2 DFS May Hill Stakes winner is now as short as 7-1.
Hannon, speaking on his website about his filly, said: “She did a very good piece of work [on Wednesday], and Pollenator, who came up with a couple of decent horses, could not be going to Newmarket in better form.
“She is not a filly who over exerts herself at home, but she showed far more zest in that gallop and looks to have really turned herself on. She has come in her coat, and we are very happy with her.”
