We’re looking at an under-performing chaser in Worcester and the tie of the day at the World Matchplay Darts at Blackpool to get a pay-day after yesterday’s near miss.

The Philip Hobbs French import LORD LESCRIBAA can get scoot home in the 4.20 at Worcester this evening. He has had a pretty miserable start to his career over jumps and has not yet fulfilled his potential from his point-to-point days. He hasn’t exactly hit on the right note so far, apart from finishing a close third in a 2m 5f chase at Newton Abbot last month, but he looks the type for this game rather than hurdling.

Talented pilot Rhys Flint has been trying to stir this one into action in recent weeks with ground and trip ideals difficult to pinpoint for the seven-year-old. Lord Lescribaa is trading at around 12/1 in what looks like a very ordinary handicap chase.

Switching our attention to Blackpool and the second round of the PDC World Matchplay Championships.

The tie of the day is the meeting of popular Dutchman Co Stompe and 2008 BDO World Champion Mark Webster from Wales. It is a repeat of the World Championships quarter final, which Webster won 5-3, despite a spirited comeback by the Dutchman.

Stompe is ten places ahead of Webster in the world rankings, but this is skewed somewhat by the fact that the Welshman only joined the PDC in 2009. The bookies see this match as too close to call and quote both players at 5/6 to win.

People say lightning doesn’t strike twice but JOE believes it can. We’re backing WEBSTER TO WIN at 13-9 tonight. Snap up the 10/1 on that.

JOE’s Daily Double: Lord Lescribaa (Worcester, 4.20 @ 12/1) & Mark Webster to beat Co Stompe 13-9 (10/1)
