Twit of the Day
Although we’re still trying to block out memories of that time he inexplicably hosted ‘Naked Jungle’, a game show presented completely in the nip, Keith Chegwin is still a much-revered comic and TV personality. However, Cheggers has now found himself at the centre of a Twitter row, after being accused by numerous comedians of stealing their jokes and passing them off as his own.
In response to the ensuing storm, Chegwin yesterday tweeted:
‘Dear me – there are some real bullies here on Twitter – I can take rude comments. Done that for years..But cyber bullies and threats -NO’
Comedians Ed Byrne and Simon Evans have tweeted that whilst they respect Chegwin as a person, he should credit his sources. Chegwin has been defiant, stating ‘Most of my gags are my own & original.
