24/06 End of the Day

Home time. Time to check out the five whackiest hotels in the world and get a rub down from a Chinese masseuse.

Pic of the Day

Muddy men

Catholic devotees listen to mass while covered in mud and leaves during the Taong Putik Festival or ‘Mud People Festival’, the Feast of Saint John the Baptist on June 24, 2010 in the town of Aliaga, Nueva Ecija, Philippines. During the feast, members of the Catholic community cover themselves in mud and stick banana leaves, twigs and vines onto themselves emulating John the Baptist’s disguised appearance when he baptised Christ.

Mood Swingometer

Today JOE has been feeling like getting a rub down.

That’s code for a hand job. Recession busting massage offers are available for as little as €30 in some Dublin-based Chinese massage parlours. Sounds like the business.

JOE.ie investigates Ireland’s Chinese brothels – back in business.

Tonight’s Telly

Pick of the night: Live World Cup 2010, RTE2 & BBC1, from 7.00pm.

I really didn’t think this would be the highlight of tonight’s flicking but it has to be one of the worst night’s TV scheduling ever. Diabolical and depressing stuff. Denmark and Japan will amaze me if they can throw up a good contest so I recommend you watch this one down the pub with the lads over a game of cards. Kick-off is at 7.30pm if you’re interested. Not a night to stay in.

Live Like JOE

Spend a night in one of the world’s weirdest hotels.

The Dog Bark Park Inn, an underwater hotel or a Boeing 727 hotel. Take your pick.

JOE.ie has found five of the whackiest hotels in the world. Don’t plan your holidays until tou read this.
