The Hondurans have been hopeless so far but against a mind-numbingly boring Switzerland side who have to win, we’re backing them to stop the rot.

Switzerland stunned Spain in the first game before coming up short against the Chileans next time out, and they’ll be expected to inflict more woe on Honduras in the final round of games in Group H.

However, the Swiss are set up so defensively that there must be a doubt about their ability to attack any side, even one as limited as the central Americans.

Ottmar Hitzfeld’s side will be without one of their more creative players in Valon Behrami, the West Ham United midfielder who was sent off against Chile and misses this one through suspension.

We half-thought of going with the Hondurans at 11/2 but you get the feeling they’ll be happy enough with a DRAW in order to avoid the wooden spoon, so we’ll take 3/1 about that.

In racing, the one that takes our eye is DALIYRA in the 6.25 race at the Curragh.

Daliyra’s run at Down Royal last Sunday can be forgiven as she lost a hind shoe in running. Prior to that she ran an excellent race in a strong event at Navan behind Vivacious Vivienne, when she was settled well off the pace and made up a vast amount of ground quite quickly in the straight that day to finish a never nearer second. If Micheal Halford’s filly can produce that turn of speed again, she will go very close this evening.

JOE’s Daily Double: Switzerland and Honduras to draw (3/1) & Daliyra (Curragh, 6.25 @ 9/1)
