NASA top brass were flabbergasted over the weekend, after their astonauts had seemingly decided to pack up their spaceboots and hawk cut-price electronics over their Twitter feed. NASA spokeswoman Stephanie Shierholz told SPACE.com that “five sales tweets were sent†over the weekend through the @NASA_astronauts feed, which distributes official NASA tweets from their asronauts posting online.
All five offending tweets were swiftly deleted, with a swift apology from NASA themselves:
“Back to tweets from NASA astronauts.â€
