It’s a bumper Friday of horse-racing with eight meetings stretched across the day. We’re looking at two runners, one each side of the pond, to click.

Declan Carroll’s MAYOMAN had a pillar-to-post victory last time out in Catterick and, despite a 6lb hike up in the weights, he looks very solid to go on to score in the last at Thirsk.

This 5f sprint for apprentice jockeys should see Micky Mac and Arriva la Diva both knocking on the door but it’s Neil Farley’s ride who will definitely head the betting and is our selection to add to his career best performance two weeks ago.

Take MAYOMAN to bolt up in the 5.00 at Thirsk at a price of 7/4.

Back at home, we have meetings to look forward to this evening at Down Royal and Wexford. Adrian McGuinness throws his experienced seven-year-old SILLY DANCER back into action after a promising third at Leopardstown 15 days ago.

This mare usually gets a mandatory win or two around this time of year and is a model of consistency in terms of place money. Chris Hayes (pictured above) takes the ride and there’s no question that Silly Dancer will there or thereabouts coming off the back of her most recent performance when she finished close up behind rival Jeangeorges, who also goes in the 6.00 over 1m 100y.

Double up with a nicely priced SILLY DANCER at 10/1 to make it a feel-good Friday.
