The Front Pages

Gangland killings have returned to the streets of Ireland again.

The Irish Independent screams, “Brothers shot dead as gang war erupts.”

And the Irish Times also reads something similar with, “Two men killed and teenage boy wounded in gun attack.”

Paul Corbally (35) and his brother Kenneth (32) were shot dead as they sat in a car in the Neilstown Road area of Clondalkin, west Dublin, just after 8pm last night.

It is still unclear whether the injured teenager was in the car with the Corbally brothers or standing outside. Gardai continue their investigations.

Meanwhile, the Irish Examiner tells us that, “Rip-off Republic rolls on.”

In a damning report, we are told that Ireland ranks second in the EU for high prices. Ireland is the highest priced EU country for tobacco, alcohol, milk, eggs and cheese. Most of the things we love can be found cheaper anywhere else!

Tales from the Tabs

Ex-Emmerdale babe Roxanne Pallett (pictured above) has been taking a break from a production of musical Rock Around The Clock which is touring the UK.

Since leaving the ITV1 soap, Roxanne has taken part in Dancing On Ice and has a one-off role coming up in Casualty.

She has revealed she would love another part on a soap, according to The Sun.

Brazil showed their samba style last night as they breezed past Chile and set up a mouth-watering World Cup quarter-final with Holland.

Brazil’s three goals came from Juan, Luis Fabiano and Robinho. The Daily Star reports, “Brazil held firm to send a big warning to the Dutch ahead of their quarter-final clash in Port Elizabeth on Friday.”

Holland secured their place in the quarters earlier in the day with a 2-1 win over Slovakia. Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder provided the Dutch goals.
