Friday’s Double focuses on the opening day of cricket’s Twenty20 World Cup and racing from Doncaster.

It’s just not cricket, is Twenty20. Who cares? We’d rather watch Chris Gayle slamming sixes any day than Michael Atherton poking singles.

Ireland’s best cricketers will have to stop Gayle and his West Indies colleagues in the second game of the opening day. For more on that one, check out JOE’s interview with Northants and Ireland star, and big-hitter in his own right, Niall O’Brien.

Before NZ-Ireland, we’ll see one of Gayle’s near-equals in big hits in the shape of New Zealand’s BRENDON McCULLUM. He’s 3/1 to be the Black Caps’ top scorer against Sri Lanka and we just have to have a bit of that.

Next up it’s Doncaster’s 4.45, a 1m2f handicap. Henry Cecil’s Rigidity is a short-priced morning favourite but the form of his maiden win has not worked out and we wouldn’t be wading in at 5/4. Instead, we’ll suggest DANDINO, who has at least proved his wellbeing as a three-year-old by winning first time up three weeks ago.

JOE’s DAILY DOUBLE: Brendon McCullum to top-score (NZ v Sri Lanka @ 3/1) & Dandino (Doncaster, 4.45 @ 10/1)
