The New York Yankees’ Alex Rodriguez became just the seventh player to hit 600 home runs in Major League Baseball history.

The 35-year-old hit the milestone homer last night against the Toronto Blue Jays in front of an ecstatic crowd at Yankee Stadium.

He is the youngest man to ever join the 600 club, as the legendary Babe Ruth was 36 when he achieved the feat for the Boston Red Sox in 1920.

Rodriguez is now seventh in the all-time home-run list behind Sammy Sosa (609), Ken Griffey Jr (630), Willie Mays (660), Babe Ruth (714), Hank Aaron (755) and Barry Bonds (762).

It was A-Rod’s 255th home-run for the Yankees since joining them from the Texas Rangers in 2004.
