Rich ‘Ace’ Franklin has said he will have to be at his sharpest when he meets Chuck ‘Iceman’ Liddell at UFC 115, adding that he sees timing as his opponent’s most lethal weapon.

“I would imagine he’s going to come into this fight more explosive than he ever has been,” Franklin told UFC.com.

The former UFC Middleweight Champion continued, “With Chuck I don’t think it’s the speed that makes him dangerous. It’s his timing.”

“He sucks you in, he waits for you to get a little over extended then he picks the proper time to angle off and drop that right hand, or his lead hook, on you.

“We have to make sure I’m razor-sharp in what I’m doing and that there is not any moment of timidness in my motion so that I just move in fluid and land the punches or the kicks I need to land.”

“I think the fans are excited as they know the kind of fights that myself and Chuck put on. You put the two of us in the Octagon together and it’s NOT going to be a boring fight.”

Franklin’s conditioning is considered among the best in the UFC and he believes this could prove the difference during the bout.

He added, “As time progresses I tend to accelerate as a fighter and Chuck tends to slow down and things are going to start to play in my favour.”
