The buzzkillingtons at the Advertising Standards Authority of Ireland have banned yet another Club Orange advert by claiming it looks like a pair of tits. They might have worded it slightly different.

If there’s one thing they teach you in advertising school it’s that sex sells. So you can’t really blame the lads at Club Orange advertising division for doing what comes natural – that being, plastering your adverts with scantly clad women. Sadly, that’s gotten them in trouble in the past.

However, their newest advert (pictured above), which doesn’t show any skin at all, has also now been officially banned by the ASAI because it looks to much like a good aul’ pair of knockers

Sadly, one too many prudes good honest citizens have been offended by the advert and the advertising watchdog came to the conclusion that the imagery used was “intended to represent a pair of women’s breasts”. Really? Is that what they were going for?

However a spokesman for the advertising company who made the ad for Club Orange said, “The marketing campaign is aimed at its core target audience, primarily 18-30 year-old males, and it was intentionally tongue-in-cheek.

“We used light hearted innuendo in an attempt to draw attention to the natural ingredients in the product.”

So what do you think? Is the advert sexist, demeaning and hurtful to children’s eyes? Or is it just a bit of a laugh? Either way, Club are going to enjoy a lot of media attention over the next few days. Sure, the ad will pay for itself in no time.
