Macclesfield nearly pulled off one of the upsets of the FA Cup third round against Bolton earlier today thanks to a truly spectacular effort from Arnaud Mendy.

Mendy put the League Two side into the lead midway through the second half with a stunning volley, spinning and striking the ball into the top corner in the one movement and in the process completing a miserable week for Trotters ‘keeper Adam Bogdan, who was beaten by Everton ‘keeper Tim Howard earlier in the week.

Macclesfield dared to dream for about ten minutes afterwards, but David Wheater equalised for the visitors, who will more than likely get the job done in the replay at the Reebok.

Still, at least Mendy will always have the consolation of having scored this beauty, which you can appreciate in all its glory in the video above.
