Rafael Nadal has said fans will see him at his best ever as Wimbledon 2010 heats up.
Nadal secured a victory over Marcos Daniel in the second round at Queen’s yesterday in his first competitive grass court game since his hard-fought final win over Roger Federer in 2008.
Injury meant the Spaniard was unable to defend his title in 2009, but the 24-year-old says he is back to full fitness.
“I think I am a better player because I am a more complete player,†Nadal told the Gulf Times. “Probably in general I am a better player because I am running less than before. I don’t have pain now. I worked a lot and for the moment I am well. We never know if that’s forever but for the moment we found a solution.
“Sometimes when you look at my last matches it seems like I’m playing better than a few years ago, but then again, if you watch the matches at Wimbledon (in 2008) against (Andy) Murray in the quarter-finals and against Federer in the final, it is difficult to be playing much better than that.â€
