Barcelona have completed the signing of David Villa for a fee of €40m, the Spanish striker’s club Valencia has claimed.
Villa has agreed a four-year deal at the Nou Camp which will see him earn around €135,000 a week and will be presented to the media at a press conference on Friday.
The 28-year-old has enjoyed another productive season in Spain, top-scoring for Valencia with 21 La Liga goals.
Outgoing Barca president Juan Laporta had pledged to secure the signings of Villa and Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas before stepping down this summer.
