Blackpool manager Ian Holloway is considering offering former Arsenal and England striker Francis Jeffers a contract with the newly promoted Premier League club.
Jeffers has been on trial with Blackpool this week, and came on as a substitute in the Seasiders’ 2-1 friendly victory over Accrington Stanley.
“He’s only been with us for two days,” Holloway said.
“Obviously he’s been quality in the past, but things didn’t work out for him last year.
“We’ve given him a chance to show me what he can do.”
Jeffers burst onto the scene with Everton, scoring 18 goals in 49 league games and earning an £8million move to Everton.
Since 2001, the ‘fox in the box’ has played for six clubs, scoring a combined total of 16 goals.
He was most recently released by relegated Sheffield Wednesday, after scoring five goals in 54 games.
