This week marks the launch of Meteor’s Bringing the Craic Back campaign, which is all about remembering why we love the craic by celebrating the wonderful and wacky events that our nation has to offer.
The campaign sees Meteor getting involved with events such as the Irish Bog Snorkelling Championships, Culchie Festival, Ted Fest – all sponsored by Meteor – and a surprise Meteor event, which will be announced at a later date.
Kicking off the campaign Ireland’s much loved DJ and JOE.ie columnist, Ray Foley will be giving Today FM’s listeners the chance to win a fun VIP weekend at the Irish Bog Snorkelling Championships, the first in the series of Meteor’s Bringing the Craic Back events.
Speaking at the launch of the campaign, Meteor’s Head of Communications, Amanda Carroll said; “Meteor’s Bringing the Craic Back campaign is about having fun with friends and family, it’s about being socialable and more importantly having the craic! As an engaging, young at heart brand, we are really looking forward to being involved in all of these great events and sharing the fun with our customers on our dedicated mircosite on meteor.ieâ€
Taking place on Saturday, 11 September in Castleblayney, Co Monaghan, the second Irish Bog Snorkelling Championships, sponsored by Meteor, will see participants propel themselves along a 60m strip of water in the fastest time possible, using flipper power only.
Following this, all roads lead to lovely Leitrim for the October Bank Holiday weekend, when the 21st Culchie Festival takes place. The weekend includes a number of events, including The Leitrim Super Gran competition, Matchmaking of Culchies and festival escorts, The Culchie a la Crème competition, the King of the Culchies competition and The Women in Wellies competition. A stand-alone Meteor event will also take place before Christmas to coincide with the brand’s Christmas campaign.
Then it’s into 2011, where Meteor’s Bringing the Craic Back campaign will kick start with the Meteor Ted Fest, which runs from 24 – 27 February and features, among other Father Ted classics, The Lovely Girls competition.
