Last night’s ‘Supermoon’ produced some spectacular pictures on Twitter last night.
Thanks to a quirk in the orbit of the satellite the moon was at its biggest and brightest in the sky last night. Roughly appearing 14 per cent larger, and 30 per cent brighter, it really was quite ‘super’ last night and these pictures prove it.
There were lots of snaps floating around but the two best we saw were firstly this spooky pic of the moon lighting up Dublin Bay, via BarkusMaximus

The second, by John Finn (@carrigman), is even better as it shows the full moon over Ballycotton Island in Cork.
