A British Tennis player is at the centre of a betting probe, following a match at an ATP Tour event in Newport, Rhode Island.
Richard Bloomfield, who is ranked 552 in the World, had a surprise victory over former World number 38, Christophe Rochus from Belgium in straight sets, 7-6 6-3.
The anti-corruption Tennis Integrity Unit were alerted by unusual betting patterns, when more than £1m was placed on Bloomfield’s victory.
The original match odds were around evens, before Bloomfield was backed down to 1-4.
It was only the second win of Bloomfield’s career, his other victory coming in the first round of Wimbledon four years ago.
