Dual star Eoin Cadogan and captain Graham Canty have been named in the Cork team for Sunday’s All-Ireland final against Down.
Conor Counihan has made one change to the side that defeated Dublin in the semi-final with Cadogan replacing John Miskella in the full back line. Ray Carey will switch to left corner back to allow Cadogan to start in the right corner.
Canty’s participation had been in doubt, with the Bantry Blues clubman taking a limited part in training over the last number of weeks due to a hamstring injury sustained in the quarter-final against Roscommon, an injury that forced him to withdraw at half-time in the semi-final against the Dubs.
He has been named to start at centre-half back, however, with Conor Counihan prepared to take a risk on a player who has been such an influential presence for the Rebels over the years.
The side shows five changes from last year’s All-Ireland final against Kerry, with Carey, Cadogan, Paudie Kissane, Aidan Walsh and Ciaran Sheehan replacing Anthony Lynch, Kieran O’Connor, John Miskella, Nicholas Murphy and Colm O’Neill in the starting line-up.
Colm O’Neill and Nicholas Murphy have been held in reserve despite impressing on their introduction against Dublin in the semi-final.
The All-Ireland final throws in on Sunday at 3.30pm in Croke Park. JOE will be tracking the game live in our GAA section from 2.30pm on Sunday.
