Did you enjoy the few nice days we had the week before last? Well good, because we’re now expecting floods… great.
It looks like some of the wesht of the country will have to batten down the hatches between today and tomorrow as certain areas are in for a right downpour. Leinster and Ulster will get off lightly with a slight, but constant, sprinkle of rain while some places in Munster and Connacht will get up to 60mm of rain.
According to Met Éireann, “widespread, locally-heavy rain will develop this morning and it will become rather windy too. Heavy rain will ease in parts of the east and southeast by evening but prolonged heavy rain will continue in much of Connaught and Munster, with flooding likely in places.”
Temperatures won’t be anywhere near the 20C that we enjoyed recently. You can expect 12C to 15C for the best part of the day while night time temperatures will stay in and around 6C to 8C.
Strong to gale force winds are expected, however, these will ease for a time in southeastern counties later on this evening.
Well, we just hope you enjoyed the three glorious days of sunshine that we had the week before last – also known as the summer of 2012.
