Celtic manager Neil Lennon has confirmed that the club has offered Paddy McCourt a new two-year contract at the club.

The 26-year-old Irishman has started just three Scottish Premier League games since joining the Bhoys from Derry City two years ago.

McCourt has been linked with a move to Barclays Premier League newcomers Blackpool but Lennon is keen to keep the mazy dribbler at the club.

He said, “We have offered Paddy a two-year extension and the ball is in his court. I am aware of interest from elsewhere but we would like to keep him.”
