Video: Close call on icy road

If you're going to overtake on an icy road... make sure you know what you're doing.

If you’re going to overtake on an icy road… make sure you know what you’re doing.

Sometimes, driving behind a slow moving vehicle can be as boring and monotonous as listing to the missus telling you about her Tupperware party.

However, you shouldn’t really overtake on an icy road regardless of the speeds, unless you’re a skilled driver or you have cojones the size of melons, of course.

The driver in the clip above obviously thought he was smuggling a couple of honeydews in his trousers that day when he tried – in vein – to overtake a truck.

We’re sure that the people in the snowier parts of Russia are used to the manoeuvre by now, but still, there’s always one.

Trying to over take the first truck, the driver loses control and skids the car over onto the other side of the road.

For once, smashing into the guardrail on the side of the road was a good thing. It was definitely a lot better than the other option: smashing into the truck heading in the opposite direction.

Thankfully no one was seriously injured in the clip above.

Although, we’ve noticed a bit of a trend in poor overtaking coming from Russia, as you can tell from the video below…
