As if times weren’t hard enough already, one Manager in a Kildare Credit Union has had his pay slashed from €423 to €375… per hour – the poor guy.

Luke Charleton, the special manager for the Newbridge branch of the Credit Union, has had to take a pay cut of a whole €48 euro an hour, while the rest of the country struggles to make that in a day.

In order for the cut to be implemented, the Central Bank had to make an application with the High Court. The President of the High Court, Mr Justice Nicholas Kearns, implemented the cut, which is to take affect as of Monday.

However, Mr Charleton isn’t the only person on staff who has to deal with their pay packet going on a diet.

According to the Irish Times, Mr Charleton’s staff will see reductions of €375 for partners, which is down from €423, €300 for directors down from €339, €247 for senior managers from €279, €191 for managers from €216 and €135 for senior assistants down from €150.

Well, at least they’re all in it together – making buckets of money regardless of the cuts, that is.
