Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney is the sole nominee for the UEFA Football Awards plying his trade in England, while Cristiano Ronaldo has been snubbed altogether.
Dominating this year’s UEFA Club Football awards are Inter Milan and Barcelona, who have garnered five and four nominations respectively.
Champions League finalists Bayern Munich, losing semi-finalists Lyon, and losing quarter-finalists Manchester United each earn one nomination.
Despite scoring 33 goals in 35 matches, Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo has been omitted, possibly due to his club’s poor form in Europe.
