Dolores Aveiro said that the doctor refused to help her so she tried to do things by herself.
JOE was amazed to read the candid news revealed by Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother in her autobiography ‘Mother Courage’ which has just been released in Portugal.
Understandably this is a sensitive issue, but Avevio admits that she took measures to terminate her pregnancy after a doctor refused to intervene.
“I wanted to abort but the doctor didn’t support my decision,” she admits in the book. She went on to explain that she drank warm ale and “ran till she dropped” without achieving her aim.
The Ballon D’Or winner was absent from the official launch of the book, citing work commitments with Real Madrid, but Aveiro says that her son already knew of this attempt and that they are on the best possible terms about this difficult situation.
“He told me when he found out, ‘Look mum, you wanted to abort and now I’m the one who’s pulling the purse-strings in the house’.”
