Leinster full-back and Irish international Girvan Dempsey has announced that he will retire from rugby at the end of the season.
The 34-year-old has won 81 caps for Ireland since his debut against Georgia in 1998 and is expected to make his 175th appearance for Leinster in the Magners League clash with Edinburgh at the RDS on Sunday.
Dempsey, who scored a total of 95 points for Ireland, will be best remembered for his try against England at Twickenham in 2004 which helped his country earn their first Triple Crown since1985.
