Andy Murray crashed out of the French Open tennis championship following a straight sets defeat to Tomas Berdych on Sunday evening.

The Czech Republic player won 6-4 7-5 6-3 in just two-and-a-quarter hours at Roland Garros.

Murray never threatened Berdych in a rain-interrupted fourth round contest, with the 15th seed facing just one break point during the match.

It continues a miserable run of form for the British number one, who has failed to make it past the last eight of any tournament since going down to Roger Federer in the final of the Australian Open in January.
