Novak Djokovic will face Rafa Nadal in the final of the US Open, after overcoming five time victor at Flushing Meadows, Roger Federer.

Djokovic ended Federer’s run of six consecutive US Open finals, defeating him 5-7 6-1 5-7 6-2 7-5 in three hours and 44 minutes.

“It was just a big pleasure playing in this kind of match,” the Serbian said.

“It’s one of those matches you’ll always remember in your career. I’m just so thrilled to be in the final.”

“If it goes in, it goes in. If it goes out, you know, another loss to Federer in the US Open. I managed to come back. I was very lucky.”

Djokovic will face Spain’s Rafa Nadal in the final, after the world number one defeated Mikhail Youzhny of Russia 6-2 6-3 6-4.

If Nadal wins, he will become only the seventh man to have won all four Grand Slams.
