Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri has been forced to undergo surgery and will miss a month of action.

In a statement on their website, Arsenal have confirmed that Nasri “will today undergo minor surgery on his knee following a meniscal injury sustained during the match against Liverpool on Sunday.”

The 23-year-old Frenchman previously suffered an injury to his knee in an International match against Serbia in 2008.

Captain Cesc Fabregas should return for Arsenal’s next match against Blackpool on 21 August, after missing the Gunners’ clash with Liverpool.
