Laois forward MJ Tierney has moved to dismiss speculation that he might be about to return to his home club, Ballyroan Abbey, from Parnells.
The colourful marksman is one of a number of outside recruits currently lining out for the galactico-like North Dublin outfit, but speculation today suggested that he might return to his home club from the capital.
Tierney, never shy of a tweet or two, dismissed the rumours via his favourite medium earlier today, saying: “No truth in anything going round today! #funnywhatyouread”.
It had been rumoured that Tierney might follow the example of fellow county men Brendan Quigley – who is set to line out for home club Timahoe after a season spent with Fingallians – and the always entertaining Colm ‘Woolberto’ Parkinson, who recently transferred back to Portlaoise after a couple of seasons in the Parnell colours.
With those rumours now put to bed by the man himself, Tierney is set to remain in the capital for one more season at least, and will hope that his adopted side can go a little further in 2012, having been knocked out by Ballymun Kickhams in the quarter-finals of the Dublin championship last year.
