Kevin Doyle and Liam Lawrence have been ruled out of the Republic of Ireland’s friendly against Argentina at the Aviva Stadium tonight.

Liam Lawrence pulled out of the squad last night with a groin injury.

The Stoke City man has revealed that he will be staying with the Potters this season despite being linked with Celtic.

Doyle is suffering from a calf problem, and was ruled out earlier today.

They have been replaced in the squad by Hibernian’s Anthony Stokes and Birmingham’s Keith Fahey.

Fahey will replace Lawrence in the Irish starting line-up on the right side of midfield, while Cillian Sheridan will take Kevin Doyle’s place in attack.

Stokes, who scored for the under-21’s earlier in the week, has been capped three times by the Republic.

Former St. Patrick’s Athletic man Fahey, has two caps.
