The testosterone-fuelled MMA scene has developed its own uniquely masculine fashion style – with over-styled t-shirts becoming the signature of the genre.

These t-shirts are something to behold – all aggressive imagery, stressed material and moody colours. They appeal instantly to a certain aspect of our nature but also prompt a bout of self-doubt – ‘I couldn’t wear that, could I?’
The answer for many of us sadly, will be no, you couldn’t. That said, if you’re in decent shape then you will look like the meanest kid in the playground with one of these bad boys on.

Some of the most eye-catching fighter style t-shirts have been released by clothing brand Affliction. This charcoal river wash number (above) with designer stitching is particularly noteworthy. Looks better with half (pictured) or full-sleeve tattoos, but you could probably get away without them.
Affliction are a tad steeper than some of the other brands, this one will set you back $68 for example, but it might still be worth sneaking one into your wardrobe. You can order this one from Affliction directly by clicking here.

If you like the idea of an MMA style t-shirt but don’t want to go full-blown skull and battle scenes, the likes of this one might suit you. It retains the main design elements but in a slightly more washed out, summery style. You could probably wear this one without having mixed martial artists demanding to know which gym you fight for.
This white with great detailing example, which carries a slightly Celtic theme, can be had from Affliction for the paltry sum of $58. All you have to do is have your credit card handy and click here.

We would never normally condone the wearing of a clothing item with the term ‘Bad Boy’ emblazoned across it, but this one (above) is something quite special. It’s a limited edition replica of the shirt worn by Brazilian fighter Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua as he made his way to the ring ahead of his UFC Light Heavyweight title fight against Lyoto Machida – who he knocked out.
For a limited time only, Shogun’s official shirt is available in a bright yellow, but with all the same design elements from his walk-out shirt.
You can order this one online for $40 by clicking here.

Go for the full on Spartan warrior look with this stunner from the Ranger Up Combatives Collection (above). It features 300-esque imagery of the Spartan Phalanx chopping it up on a bloody battlefield. It is emblazoned with the slogan ‘Molon Labe’ on the back which translates as ‘come and take them’ – King Leonidas’ response to the Persian Army when they . Nobody will be picking a fight with you when you’re decked out in this thing.
