Ivory Coast star Didier Drogba could miss the World Cup after suffering a suspected fractured elbow in his country’s warm-up game against Japan.
The Chelsea striker, who finished top goal scorer in the Premier League this season, scored  early on in the tie with a free kick which was deflected off Japanese defender Tulio in the net.
Less than five minutes later the Ivorian went down under a heavy challenge from Tulio and although he struggled to his feet the African was forced to withdraw from the game.
The 32-year-old was rushed to hospital where he is believed to have been informed that he had suffered a fractured right elbow.
According to the latest reports from L’Equipe, the Ivory Coast’s star striker has ruled himself out of the tournament.
