Emeli Sande is flying the flag for Scotland at this year’s Brit Awards with four nominations in three different categories.

Last year was a good year for Emeli Sande seeing as she preformed at both the opening and closing ceremonies of the London Olympics, not to mention her album, Our Version of Events, which sold over 1.4 million copies in the UK alone.

Well 2013 is shaping up to be just as good as she’s been nominated for best female, best album and has two tracks in the best single category.

Having won last year’s Critics’ Choice award at the Brits, the Heaven singer will surely be looking to add to her prestigious collection.

Following up Emeli for the most nominations are Mumford & Sons and Mercury Prize winners Alt-J, who’ve been both nominated for three awards.

Emeli – who never got a chance to sing at the 2012 Brits – will also take to the stage to perform with fellow artists including Muse, Robbie Williams, Mumford & Sons, Ben Howard and One Direction.
