Tipperary football manager John Evans must plan without four of his championship panel for the All-Ireland qualifier against either Meath or Laois.

The Premier County have lost full back Ciaran McDonald, half back Chris Aylward and young midfielder Alan Moloney, all of whom have travelled to the United States.

In addition, dual player Sean Carey has thrown in his lot with the county’s under-21 hurlers for the rest of the year.

Evans told the Irish Independent: “With Ciaran, Chris and Alan, I was talking to them and negotiating with them, but there’s just no employment here.

“They’re gone to America with my blessing. They’re young lads, strapped for cash and going to college. They need the money and their commitment has been second to none. If I could get them a job here I would, but I’m afraid I can’t.”
