Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas was spotted wearing a Barcelona jersey during the Spanish team’s World Cup victory parade in Madrid on Monday night.
As the Spanish team paraded the trophy in front of a reported 200,000 fans, MC Pepe Reina dragged Cesc Fabregas on stage.
The Arsenal man was then ambushed by Carles Puyol and Gerald Pique, who wrapped him in the colours of his boyhood club.
Pepe Reina then declared him, “the future of Barcelona,†before the attacking midfielder removed the jersey.
“I am an Arsenal player and proud,” Fabregas said later, “I am really proud to have been an Arsenal player.”
The midfielder has expressed a desire to join Barcelona, however Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has maintained that he has no intention of selling him.
Barcelona failed with a €35m bid for Fabregas earlier this year.
