After what happened to Luis Suarez last night, John Terry is bound to be sweating over the result of an investigation into alleged racial abuse towards Anton Ferdinand which is due this afternoon.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) have confirmed that they will make an announcement on the case this afternoon following an investigation into Terry’s alleged labeling of Ferdinand as a f**king black c**t.
Following the incident, which occurred way at Loftus Road way back in October, a complaint about Terry was made to the police, who passed it on to the CPS. The CPS received further evidence last week and now that it has been reviewed, they are ready to let Terry know whether he will be damned or let off the hook.
Once that announcement has been made, Terry could be subject to an investigation from the FA, depending on the conclusion reached by the CPS. Should Terry be found guilty, then the FA will be under pressure to come down hard on the England captain, certainly by the Liverpool club and its supporters, who were outraged by Luis Suarez’s eight game ban and 40 grand fine for alleged abuse of Patrice Evra.
If Terry is absolved of any blame by the CPS, then the FA can claim that he has no case to answer for and will be provided with a convenient excuse not to punish their inspirational captain, who, they will probably say is “not that type of person”.
Anyone that has a quick glance at this list of misdemeanours, however, might beg to differ.
