Mark Hughes is set to be revealed as Fulham manager in the next 24 hours.

Hughes is widely reported to have accpeted an offer from Fulham chairman Mohamed Al Fayed to become the new manager at Craven Cottage in a deal believed to be worth £6 million over three years.

Hughes was part of a four-man shortlist, along with Martin Jol, Ottmar Hitzfeld and former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson to succeed newly appointed Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson.

The Welshman became the preferred choice after Ajax refused to release Jol from his contract.

Hughes has previously managed Manchester City, Blackburn and the Welsh national team.
