Padraig Harrington has missed the cut at the US PGA after recording a double bogey on the final hole of his second round at Whistling Straits.

After a 75 on the opening day, Harrington got off to a great start in his second round and was two under for the front nine after four birdies and two bogies.

Another birdie on the 16th hole took Harrington to -3 for the round and even par in total, but a six on the last took Harrington back to +2 overall, one shot adrift of the cut-off point.

Rory McIlroy leads the Irish challenge on -5, three shots adrift of leader Nick Watney, while Darren Clarke is eight shots behind on level par. Graeme McDowell (+3) and Shane Lowry (+6) also missed the cut. World number one Tiger Woods is currently five shots off the pace on -3.
