Electric Picnic kicks off this weekend in Stradbally Co. Laois and this year’s flock of festival revellers can look forward to some decent weather… for once.
It looks like it could be one of the nicest weekends of the year this weekend and it just so happens that Electric Picnic is taking place in Co. Laois. That’s great news for anyone planning on going outside this weekend, but it’s even better news for anyone with a ticket to Electric Picnic.
Around 30,000 music fans are expected to congregate on the Stradbally Estate in Co. Laois this weekend and it certainly looks as though it will be a nice one. Friday is to start off a little cloudy, but that’s expected to clear by mid-afternoon.
Saturday might see some light showers breaking out in the west and northwest of the country, but festival goers in Stradbally should hopefully be basking in the sunshine at that stage.
According to met.ie temperatures during the afternoon on Saturday will reach between 18 and 20 degrees, and even warmer conditions are also expected in the east and southeast.
Sunday is expected to get a little bit cooler along the west, but once again the Electric Picnic festival looks as though it’s avoiding the worst of the weather.
So if you’re heading along to the festival this weekend to watch The Killers, Elbow and maybe even Orbital, then you better make sure to bring sunscreen and a hat… just in case.
