Here we have the moment a retired Army helicopter crashed into the ground during a shoot for Top Gear Korea.
During a shoot for the Korean version of Top Gear, an AH1 Cobra ex-army helicopter was being used to film a Corvette in the Arizona desert, when the pilot lost control and face planted the chopper into the ground.
It’s a pretty scary video to watch (…the second time around, as the crash happens within the first three seconds and is pretty full-on), but thankfully no one was killed.
Unofficial reports suggest that the helicopter was flying at a low altitude while it was filming the Chevrolet Corvette when a “mechanical malfunction” caused the crash.
It just goes to show that the set of Top Gear (no matter which part of the world you’re in) is place to keep your wits about you.
We’re just glad Hammond wasn’t in the pilots seat. He can’t have many lives left in his bag.
