Goals from Paul Stephenson and Martin Finn laid the foundation for London to overcome Monaghan in the Ulster Hurling Championship quarter-final at Casement Park. The Exiles emerged four point winners on a scoreline of 2-16 – 1-15.
In the other quarter final in Belfast, Armagh ran out easy winners over Tyrone, scoring an impressive 3-20 in a fourteen point triumph over the Red Hands.
In the Christy Ring Cup, there were wins for Kerry, Kildare, Down and Meath. In Round 2A, Kerry had seven points to spare over Westmeath in Tralee, while Kildare enjoyed a narrow three point victory over Wicklow in Newbridge.
In Round 2B, Down were comfortable ten point winners over Mayo in Charlestown and Meath earned a seven point win over Derry in Banagher.
