Christy Ring Cup

Wicklow 3-13 – 1-18 Meath

Down 1-18 – Westmeath 2-21

Laois will play Dublin in the Leinster hurling semi-final after a six point win over neighbours Carlow in Portlaoise on Saturday evening.

Niall Rigney’s men were a point behind at the break, but 1-3 from wing back Joe Fitzpatrick helped the O’Moore County to a relatively comfortable victory over a Carlow side featuring in the Leinster senior championship for the first time in four years.

In the Christy Ring Cup, Wicklow and Westmeath advanced to the semi-finals of the competition after wins over Meath and Down respectively.

Jonathan O’Neill struck an injury time goal to seal a dramatic one-point victory for Wicklow over Meath in Newbridge, while in Navan, Westmeath were too good for Down with Brendan Murtagh’s eight points helping the Lake County to a six point victory.
