There’s forgetting to pay the toll before 8pm and then there’s just not bothering your arse…
An Irish motorist is currently facing a massive fine of up to €10,000 in overdue tolls for using the barrier-free toll just north of the Westlink bridge on the M50.
You might be wondering how in the name of God someone could rack up a bill like that. Well, the unnamed motorist hasn’t paid the toll once this year after using it a total of 750 times.
The National Roads Authority confirmed that the driver had been issued with a summons several months ago and that the authority is only now in the process of obtaining a judgment that will allow his (or her) car to be siezed.
The driver in question is part of only 4 per cent of motorists who don’t pay their toll fees on time. We hope you’re not the bloke their after.
