Ireland’s Willie Casey has become the surprise Prizefighter champion after dispatching three fighters in back-to-back bouts on Saturday night.

Willie was a late addition to the competition, coming in as a replacement for former World Champion Wayne McCullough when he was forced to withdraw due to injury.

However, the Limerick fighter showed he was well worth his spot, stopping Mark Moran midway through the third round.

Next up for ‘Big Bang’ Casey, who is a member of the travelling community with 22 siblings, was Josh Wale, who pushed the Irishman all the way to a points decision.

Casey’s would-be final opponent, Ricky Owen, was forced to withdraw due to cuts, and a fresh fighter was brought in to replace him.

However, Casey showed few signs of fatigue and he dispatched stand-in Paul McElhinney on points to take his unbeaten record to 8-0.
