If you’ve ever gotten your wife’s age wrong then you’ll know the world of hurt it will land you in. Luckily for this guy, forgetting his wife’s age bagged him €2.5m.
Paddy Millar and his family from Co. Antrim are now €2.5m richer all because Paddy thought his wife Gail was younger than she actually is. Mr Millar scooped €2.5m in the EuroMillions draw last Friday, the same one which saw another lucky Brit win a whopping €190m.
The 50-year-old nurse from Ballymena used his kid’s birthdays and family anniversary’s in order to pick his lucky numbers, he also used his own age and his wife’s wrong age. Instead of picking his wife’s correct age of 49, he instead picked 48. He can just be thankful that he made her a year younger instead of older.
“It’s the best mistake I’ve ever made in my life,” said Millar.
“And Gail’s forgiven me – particularly since I made her younger.”
The Millar’s are now planning on taking a well-deserved break away, but they won’t be flying off to the Caribbean just yet. Instead they’re heading across the boarder for a short stay in the Republic.
Not bad for forgetting his wife age, right? We wouldn’t recommend you try it yourself though.
