Official figures reveal that the summer of 2012 was the wettest summer in living memory. That’s not much of a surprise now is it?
How did you enjoy your summer here in Ireland? While some of us might have enjoyed the odd glorious day here and there, we certainly didn’t get anything that lasted more than three days.
Apparently, the driest part of the whole country over the course of the summer was actually the northwest with the likes of Sligo and Donegal experiencing the best of the sunshine.
According to a Met Éireann spokesperson, “It’s been a bad few months and the weather hasn’t been kind to Ireland. The amount of rainfall has made it the wettest on record.”
While we might have had the worst summer that any of us can remember, the next few weeks might surprise us, as there’s some decent sunshine predicted for the rest of the week.
Today’s temperatures are expected to reach a high of 22C with tomorrow reaching an estimated 23C. So, if you’ve been dying for a bit of Irish sun then hopefully you won’t be working the late shift this week.
