Kerry legend Jack O’Shea has said he believes his county will need to improve drastically if they are to overturn Cork in the Munster Football Championship replay in Pairc Ui Chaoimh next weekend.

The former St. Mary’s and Leixlip man told RTÉ’s Darren Frehill that he was unimpressed by both sides.

“I suppose Kerry will be happy to get the draw but I was very disappointed with Cork,” he said.

O’Shea hailed the performance of injury doubtful Paul Galvin: “I thought Kerry were poor in the middle of the field.

“As Jack O’Connor said they didn’t win much possession until Paul Galvin came in. When he came in they seemed to get a lot of possession and put the scores on the board.”

He continued, “I think it is all to play for again, there is nothing between these two teams and it will be like that the next day.

“Home advantage is going to be a slight advantage. I can’t see Kerry being as poor as they were so Cork will have to be much better than they were yesterday. But you have to say the tide is with Cork.”
