The Gong Shot

Four professional golfers, including our own Paul McGinley, take to one of the most scenic spots in Ireland and attempt to skim a golf ball along the water towards a tiny gong located 200 yards away. Don’t believe golfers who say they put hours of toil in on the practise round day after day; this is the type of thing they really do in their spare time.

Federer trick shot

Roger the great’s career may be suffering a little of late, but taking a break while filming a commercial for Gillette recently, he showed that he’s still got it with a William Tell-like trick shot.

David Bentley skip shot

Outside of his ability from set-pieces, David Bentley is a somewhat limited footballer, but one cannot doubt his ball-striking ability. Hence, his agent probably shouldn’t have bet his £15,000 watch that Bentley couldn’t land a ball in a skip from the roof an inner-city building. The irony lies in the fact that at the time of shooting, February 2009, Bentley’s career looked very much like it was destined for the rubbish heap.

Kimbo Slice tackle

Kimbo Slice is best known as a street fighter. Which is why it wasn’t in the best interests of this fan to let 6’1″, 16 stone Slice take him apart with an American football tackle, even if he did get $100 for his troubles. Sensitive viewers should be warned: this ain’t pretty.

Extreme 19th hole, Legends Golf and Safari resort, South Africa

For most golfers, the 19th hole normally means the clubhouse bar, apart from Tiger Woods of course, for whom the term 19th hole represents something entirely different altogether. The Legends Golf and Safari resort in South Africa, however, has taken the term to an entirely new level, literally, creating a hole where players tee off from nearly 4,000 metres above the green. Watch the clip below to see Padraig Harrington and Raphael Jacquelin take on, without a doubt, the hardest par 3 in the world.
